The Watershed Reserve offers a number facilities available for public use. For details please contact our Director of Property and Open Space, Bay Weber at 609-737-3735 or email bweber@thewatershed.org.

Kingsford Community Room
Our newly restored Kingsford Community Room is a comfortable yet professional room that boasts a cozy wood-burning stove and overlooks a portion of the reserve’s wooded property. This room can accommodate 45-48 people in a variety of configurations. With its large conference table and pull down screen it is well-suited for small corporate meetings, presentations, or small social gatherings.

Nature Center ClassroomNature Center Classroom
The Nature Center Classroom is a well-lit space suitable for meetings and presentations, but can also be arranged for more hands-on activities such as demonstrations and crafts. The Classroom includes large dry-erase boards and an assortment of craft materials. This room is often used for educational programs and birthday parties. The Nature Center classroom is located adjacent to the Kate Gorrie Butterfly House and overlooks one of the reserve’s several fields.

The Grounds
The grounds located immediately behind the Main Office are sometimes used for outdoor events. The grounds are nestled between forested areas of the reserve and landscaped areas on the other. The grounds have been the site of corporate picnics, public events and private weddings. The space can accommodate a tent as large as 60’x90’.

Pond & Pond House
Pond in the winterThe Association’s reserve includes a pond that was artificially created in 1965 and receives water from the Honey Brook. A hiking trail, approximately one-mile in length, winds around the perimeter of the pond and through forest and marshlands.  The pond house, adjacent to the pond itself, is seasonally used as headquarters for the Association’s summer camp and throughout the year as an educational program destination for the study of a variety of wetland habitats. The pond is home to many interesting species such as muskrat and is used as a stopover by migratory waterfowl bringing among others: hooded mergansers and red-headed ducks. The pond and pond house are located past the organic farm on Wargo Road.

Please Note

  • Fishing is permitted from the shores of the Pond only, with appropriate license
  • Swimming and boating are not permitted
  • Ice depth is not measured nor is the pond surface tested during the winter for its ability to support people. Walking or skating on the pond is not allowed.

FarmOrganic Farm
Part of the reserve is leased to the ever-popular community supported Honey Brook Organic Farm. The farm provides fresh organic produce annually from May to November to 2,500 area shareholders through its Community Supported Agriculture program. It also serves to showcase the successful practices and viability of organic farming as well as provide educational opportunities.
